Business/Life Coach Training for BASI members (British Association of Snowsport Instructors) Pioneering programme - August 1- 8 2006 Training and personal study programme for : Award of Post Graduate Certificate in Business/Life Coaching (designatory letters, PGCert Business/Life Coach) by Chester University This is a pioneering programme open to BASI 3 qualified snowsport instructors. It is designed to teach them coaching skills from sports psychology that they can incorporate into ski instruction - and more importantly, give them a recognised qualification in Business and Life Coaching that can be a long term source of new income and additional career direction 8 days intensive learning of leading edge coaching tools from psychology and psychotherapy with 3 of the UK's leading coach trainers (Kim Morgan, John Webster and Sir John Whitmore) and Tom Saxlund, director of New Generation, one of BASI's leading ski instructor training organisations with 4 centres in France BASI instructors will leave with highly developed coaching skills that will transform much of their ski instruction and open the door to significant new income both in and out of the skiing season. There is potential to develop a coaching business to run in parallel with winter BASI work and as a full or part time job out of season. Programme Entry Credentials.Delegates must hold a minimum BASI 3 certificate and will have a 2 hour meeting with John Webster the programme leader to ensure both parties are in harmony as to intentions and objectives Qualification Procedure to obtain the Post Graduate Certificate All entrants must complete: § The 8 day residential coach training programme over six weekdays and one weekend § The additional study set out in the syllabus that involves : · A reading list of circa 8 books around sports psychology and coaching
· Assessment by the programme leaders of 2 coaching sessions
· Submission of a Learning Portfolio to Chester University for Award of a Post Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching. The Portfolio will principally contain two written Papers each of circa 4000 words on self selected Business/Life coaching topics

General 1. Delegates undertake to treat all papers and DELEGATE DETAILS as scrupulously confidential so as to recognise the sensitivities of delegates 2. Delegates work extensively in triads rotating roles as coach, client and observer throughout the eight residential days. 3. Extensive delegate manuals are provided which include detailed Checklists on every phase of the process. Course PresentersNote All speakers and times are provisional at time of going to print. CEO reserves the right to vary speakers and times to fit the changing circumstances that are inevitable with senior executives and national speakers.
Venue Aston Hall, Aston on Trent Nr Derby DE 72 2DE Aston Hall is 10 minutes from Exit 24 of the M1 near East Midlands Airport Fees This first course is open to a limited number of delegates at a heavily discounted fee The fee for this pioneering programme is substantially reduced because it is the first one and delegates will be helping to structure the syllabus for future courses. The fee is inclusive of accomodation and University charges for the Post Graduate Certificate process. The commercial price of this programme would normally be closer to £4000 + VAT. The syllabus is based on most of the material taught on the CEO and Barefoot Coaching training programmes which cost delegates £3250 - £6750 + VAT Special Pioneering Course fee £2000 + VAT inclusive of 7 nights accomodation, all meals and the Chester University fee of £540 Fees are payable in advance. A non refundable deposit of £500 + VAT is required to secure a place. Send reservations to CEO or New Gen. Make cheques payable to CEO Day Observers BASI members and skiers with special interest in observing the evolution of this coaching initiative may attend for any one day only at a fee of £100 + VAT. 50% of this is offset against the full programme fee if, within 6 months, the Observer joins the coach training programme. One day is also credited towards the 8 day qualification period. Observers receive copies of some of the presentation papers relevant to their day. Observer places are limited
